Quality is basic factor that influences customer’s choice in purchasing product and service, especially in dinning chair product. Maitland Smith Indonesia is a company that produces many furnitures, especially chair product like dinning chair. There are many other products produced by Maitland Smith Indonesia.
In order to improve quality of their products, Maitland Smith Indonesia is always responsive to customers. The main purpose of quality control at Maitland Smith Indonesia is to produce furniture that meet company standard and satisfy customer’s needs.
The methods of collecting data are observation and interviews. The analysis method uses control chart.
The purpose of the analysis is to identify the mistake store level during production process and evaluate the product quality. The calculation of data is taken from defective grade found in dinning chair in three periods, from 2008 until 2010. Every year, the product had different defective grade. The calculation of data in 2008 showed that CL was 0,042364532, that UCL was 0,075378685, that LCL was 0,009350379, then data in 2009 showed that CL was 0,044371103, that UCL was 0,074695485, that LCL was 0,0314046721 and data in 2010 showed that was CL 0,045840407, that UCL was 0,068551667, that LCL was 0,018193251.
Finally, it is concluded that from 2008 until 2010 the quality products of Maitland Smith Indonesia have not been able to obtain maximum result.The number of defect in each year remains stable.
