Semarang International Container Terminal is a handling container company that give services in stacking container before or after loading and discharging. Semarang International Container Terminal in the management PT Pelabuhan Indonesia III (Persero) which was officially launched by Agum Gumelar in early 1999. Semarang International Container Terminal has a big part in supporting regional and international economic activities for Central Java and Yogyakarta.
The purpose of this final project are: firstly, to know stevedoring, cargodoring (quay transfer) and receiving/delivery activities at Pelabuhan Indonesia III, Semarang International Container Terminal. Secondly, to find out how to control time to be effective to reach high productivity.
The final project assignment is written descriptively. The techniques of collecting data are: observation, interview, and literature study.
The result of final project shows that to reach high productivity, Semarang International Container Terminal should build up a temporary stacking area, give maintenance equipments, maximize yard allocation and placing containers properly in the purpose to controlling idle time from high receiving/delivery activities, broken equipments, lack arranged of allocation container planning, nature factor and the container position on ship.
