This is a study about how subordinates perceive leadership style for General Affairs at PT. PLN (persero) Area Semarang. Supervisor of the General Affairs of PT. PLN (Persero) Area Semarang, is responsible for the entire implementation of the general affairs activities, including: Human Resources, Secretary, management of office facilities, “K3”, tax calculation, recording financial transactions, management accounting, employee health care services
and retirement.
This study is aimed at finding out the leadership style of the General Affairs Supervisor and identify the Subordinate Perceptions towards Supervisor Leadership Style on the General Affairs of PT. PLN (Persero) Area Semarang. Data are collected through observation, literature study and interviews with five employees of the General Affairs The data are qualitatively described method.
Based on the subordinate perceptions, the leadership style applied by the Supervisor of General Affairs is the kind of democratic leadership style. The indications are that: subordinate and supervisor have a transparant and two-way communication, the supervisor always involves his subordinates in decision- making process, share the load work in accordance with their responsibilities, and the supervisor gives full trust to his subordinates and also the supervisor is able to impose discipline of work by giving examples to on subordinates
