Archive is a source of information and central memory for an institution or
organization. A good archive arrangement in addition, will facilitate the recovery of archive.
At PT. Pos Indonesia (Persero) Office Area VI Jateng & DIY, the reason to use the geographical system in running the Employees Archive, is that the system enables to facilitate recovery. However, there are still problems of doing the archive storage process such as the constraint in putting the storage of the bundle of the archives in the employees’ folder, the untidy arrangement of the archive, and unable to archive all the employees’ documents yet. Therefore, the purpose of this research are knowing how to use the geographical system and to arrange the archives in the storage.
This final project is written by descriptive qualitative method using the data
which have been collected by interviews, library researches, and observations. The kind of data used in this final project are primary and secondary data, and the data variation is qualitative data.
At PT. Pos Indonesia (Persero) Office Area VI Jateng & DIY in the Employees’ Archive, the principle of combined centralization and decentralization. Geographical system with the name of the district is used by combining with the Aphabetic system. Disposition of the archive by sorting inactive employees’ archive and transfering the employees’ archive.
