The aims of study are to identify usability of 6 container yards, to identify container yards’s capacity, to describe container placement system, to identify parties involved, and to identify equipments usage.
The method of writing is descriptive. The data were collected by interview, observation and studying literature. The type of data used were qualitative, quantitative, primary, and secondary data.
The results of study were that Semarang Container Terminal Branch PT Pelabuhan Indonesia III (Persero) has 6 container yards. They are CY 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, and 06. The capacity of container yards are 12,611 TEU’s. The container placement system is based on the function and usability of container yards. The parties involved in the container placement system are Planner Supervisor, RTG’s operator, Head Truck’s operator, Top Loader/Reachstaker/Side Loader’s operator, Yard Supervisor, Tally Man and Foreman. The equipment usage are RTG, Top Loader/Reachstaker, and Side Loader.
