Pengaruh komunikasi internal terhadap disiplin kerja karyawan pada PT Phapros, Tbk Semarang
PT Phapros Tbk, Semarang is a pharmaceutical company in which internal communication is important for the company. According to the result of employee satisfaction assessment at PT Phapros, Tbk Semarang in 2012 and 2013 which shows that there are problems with internal communication and with discipline. According to attendance of employees in April 2014 there were 77 employees come late and 6 employees got a warning from PT Phapros, Tbk Semarang.
The purpose of this final report is to know any influence of top-down or down-ward communications, bottom-up or upward communications, diagonal communication and horizontal communication on the discipline of employee of PT Phapros, Tbk Semarang.
Observation, interviews, questionnaires, and literature are used to collect data. This study is using method of multiple linear regression coefficient analysis. Questionnaires were distributed to 85 employees as respondents. Regression analysis was used to determine the influence of communication from the top- down or down-ward communications, bottom-up or upward communications, diagonal communication and horizontal communication on discipline of employees. Data collection method were processed by SPSS 20.0.
The calculation of regression coefficient shows that Y = 0.179 + 0.214X1
+0.310X2 + 0.223X3 + 0.273X4. It means that the top-down or down-ward communications, bottom-up or upward communications, diagonal communication and horizontal communication gives positive influence on the discipline of employees, and the coefficient of determination is 0.467. It means that 46.7% the employee discipline is influenced by internal communication while the rest of 53.3% is influenced by other factors.
To improve internal communication in order to support discipline, the managers have to pay more attention to employees problems. Beside that, the managers have to use direct communication using face to face communication and using simple language to communicate with their employees to decrease barrier communication.
