In the international trade, there are several kinds of payment methods such as Advance Payment, Open Account, Collection Draft, Letter of Credit and etc. Exporters need the safest payment method of export-import to support their success in business and avoid nonpayment risk.
The aim of this final report entitled “ TELEGRAPHIC TRANSFER (T/T) PAYMENT SYSTEM FOR HANDYCRAFT PRODUCT AT UD TETAP JAYA ART BOYOLALI ” is to find out firstly the mechanism of Telegraphic Transfer, secondly obstacles in using Telegraphic Transfer, and finally the solutions of the obstacles.
UD Tetap Jaya Art Boyolali is a company which produces wooden handicraft as export commodities. In receiving payment, the company accepts and receives Telegraphic Transfer.
In using Telegraphic Transfer as payment method, the company finds some problems such as entering wrong identity of exporter bank account by importer, the postponed payment by the importer due to distrust of shipment, and non full payment.
The company has three solutions to these problems. The solution are by asking importer to send the copy of Telegraphic Transfer slip, sending telex release from shipping company to importer, and changing the percentage of payment in every stage of Telegraphic Transfer activities.
