Pelaksanaan Seminar Nasional "Strategi Sukses Berbisnis di Usia Muda" di Politeknik Negeri Semarang
School graduates find it more difficult to land a job, and even after securing a job, being employees do not really guarantee a bright future. On the other hand, globalization era enables young generation to start their own business which can prepare them for a better future. However, due to lack of information and knowledge to run business, young generations are not enthusiastic in starting their own business.
The purposes of the final project are to organize a national seminar which can give information and knowledge about business for young people with a projected number of participations of 200 young people from several regions in Central Java and DIY and to market the Seminar using profit-oriented marketing mix.
The methods of approach used were the 4Ps (Product, Price, Place, Promotion) and fund raising. The product was a national seminar. The pricing method was penetration pricing. The tickets were sold directly and indirectly. The promotional methods were advertising, personal selling and sales promotion.
In spite of minimum sponsorships, the seminar was held as planned on May 19, 2010. It was attended by 229 young people, exceeding the target. The marketing mix strategies and the fund raising were effective in marketing the seminar. The profit gained was IDR 351.300,00.
It is concluded that the seminar was successfully organized, attended by more participants then what was projected, effectively marketed by using marketing mix and fund raising strategies and gained a profit.
