The production activity is purely supported by the smooth flow of raw material in accordance with the production planned by company. The flow of raw materials supply must be supported by good raw material handling. Raw material handling at PT APAC INTI COPROPORA SEMARANG is accomplished by warehousing of raw material division. The importance of raw material handling in warehouse is supporting element in distributing the imported raw material to manufacturing division.
The purposes of this research were to find out the handling process of imported raw material in Raw Material Warehouse, the related documents, and related divisions. The data was collected by observation, interviews, and literature studies. The data used in this research were qualitative and quantitative data. The type of writing method was descriptive.
The raw material handling was started by receiving the goods and documents from import division until raw material distribution to manufacturing division. The needed document of raw material handling in warehouse division were such as bill of lading, good receipt-PO import, landing report, STPO (stock transfer purchase order), transfer posting POSTO. The related persons comprised external and internal one. The internal consisted of Import division, CCR (cotton contaminated removal) division, spinning 3, 4, and 5 division, open end division, CWR (cotton waste removal) division, QC (quality control) division.
